Pakistan, Russia deepen security cooperation
Pakistan and Russia have agreed to deepen cooperation on security matters and move forward with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between their interior ministries during a meeting held on the sidelines of the United Nations in New York. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Alexandrovich Kolokoltsev at the UN Headquarters, where both sides reviewed bilateral ties and discussed ways to expand collaboration on regional security challenges. The two ministers exchanged views on the regional situation and explored enhanced cooperation in counterterrorism, counter-narcotics, cybercrime prevention, and joint police training, according to APP. They also discussed developing a coordinated approach to counter terrorist networks operating in the region, with particular focus on Afghanistan.
