SBP reserves rise $33m to $17.26bn

The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $32.8 million or 0.19% WoW to $17.26 billion during the week ended on July 17, 2026, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday. However, the country's total liquid foreign exchange reserves slipped by $5.9m, or 0.03% WoW, to $22.67bn, as reserves held by commercial banks declined during the week. Separately, the SBP also released its monthly reserves data, which showed that the central bank's reserves increased by $1.19bn to $18.3762bn at the end of June 2026, compared with $17.1893bn at the end of May 2026. On a yearly basis, SBP reserves rose by $3.87bn, or 26.68%, from $14.5058bn in June 2025.
