PM vows stronger economic cooperation with US

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said Pakistan wanted to further strengthen economic cooperation with the US, particularly in trade, investment, agriculture, information technology, mines and minerals, and the energy sector. The prime minister made the remarks during a meeting with a visiting US Congressional delegation comprising Representatives Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner, as Islamabad looked to expand economic engagement with Washington. Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with the US, saying economic cooperation remained a central pillar of bilateral ties.
