Breakup of Pakistan\'s trade data in July: PBS
Pakistan's trade deficit in July 2026 stood at $3.98bn compared to a deficit of $3.15bn in the same month last year, reflecting a rise of 26.1% YoY, according to provisional data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). Meanwhile, compared to June 2026's deficit of $4.66bn, the trade deficit has narrowed by 14.6%. Exports in July 2026 rose by 10.4% YoY to $2.96bn compared to $2.68bn in July 2025. On a month-on-month basis, exports were up 32.1% from $2.24bn in June 2026. In Rupee terms, exports in July 2026 amounted to Rs823.55bn, up 8.0% from Rs762.58bn in July 2025 and up 31.95% from Rs624.16bn in June 2026. Main commodities of exports in July 2026 were Knitwear (Rs148.41bn), Readymade garments (Rs127.89bn), Bed wear (Rs85.77bn), Cotton cloth (Rs39.36bn), Rice others (Rs34.36bn), Towels (Rs29.57bn), Madeup articles (excl towels & bedwear) (Rs21.47bn), Basmati rice (Rs21.27bn), Petroleum products (excl top naphtha) (Rs21.03bn) and Cotton yarn (Rs18.50bn).
