Gold rises to highest since mid-May as buying momentum builds
Gold hit a more than three-month high on Tuesday, extending a rally driven by the US Treasury’s recent buyback announcement, while investor focus shifted to key inflation data and a speech later this week by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh. Spot gold was up 0.4% at $4,668.19 per ounce, as of 0146 GMT, after hitting its highest since May 14 earlier in the session. US gold futures rose 0.6% to $4,724.50.
