PSX Closing Bell: Bulls Bow to the Bears
Pakistan’s benchmark KSE-100 Index closed Tuesday’s trading session at 172,642.16, down 993.91 points or 0.57%, as escalating tensions between the United States and Iran and a continued rise in oil prices kept investors cautious. Oil prices climbed for a third consecutive session on Tuesday, hovering near six-week highs as intensifying US-Iran tensions raised concerns over prolonged disruptions to crude supplies from the Middle East, adding to pressure on risk appetite at the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The index remained highly volatile during the session, trading in a range of 2,245.56 points. It hit an intraday high of 173,736.19, up 100.12 points, while the low stood at 171,490.63, down 2,145.44 points. The total volume of the KSE-100 Index rose to 225.24 million shares.
